Abstract:
In modern software development processes a huge amount of design models are created to specify requirements, desired architecture, etc. Especially in big projects these models will grow to a size where a software designer can not be aware of all aspects the model. This will most probably lead to a inconsistent state of the model. Although certain kinds of inconsistencies in a design model may be tolerated, they have to have to be fixed eventually. Because of the size of nowadays software projects and their corresponding design models it is impossible to find out all existing inconsistencies "by-hand", making it necessary having tool support that uses a formalized approach to find the existing inconsistencies. Once knowing where those occur one would also want to know how to fix them.
